MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Responsible for assisting Bid & Proposal Manager as required.
Works under limited supervision.
Applies and uses well-developed knowledge of contract, bid and proposal management.
Gathers commercial, financial and technical information needed in the preparation of contracts and bids.
The Opportunity
Abbott Core Diagnostics are looking for a Tenders & 3rd party Specialist in our Maidenhead office. The role reports to the Manager of Enterprise Accounts and its purpose is to apply and use well-developed knowledge of contract, bid and proposal management and to gather commercial financial and technical information needed in the preparation of contracts and bids.
What You’ll Do
* Supports the Field based Sales Team, known as the Enterprise Team (Enterprise Account Managers and Sales Executives) daily to help and support their activities to win and retain business.
* Responsible for coordinating internal and external procedures, to assist in the Sales Cycle, Tender process, and tender award phase with the Enterprise Team.
* Pivotal key driver in the winning of tendered and RFP business working with the Enterprise Team.
* Identify, evaluate, and support delivery of highly complex pathology laboratory solutions across core Blood Sciences and up to full pan-pathology repertoire comprising of both Abbott and third-party solutions.
* Project manage all tender opportunities starting with the sales cycle, through tender and to post award handover providing more capacity to the sales team for value added sales business.
* Provide comprehensive training and support to Enterprise Team on Tender Process and TenderEyes.
Required Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a science based or economics/business studies related discipline. Project management qualifications are desirable but not essential.
* Laboratory medicine experience desirable from NHS, private Laboratory or Commercial industry.
* Tenders/RFP/Bid writing/Sales Proposal experience desirable TenderEyes/SharePoint experience desirable.
* Effective communication and leadership skills.
* Collaborative worker that enjoys completing projects to a high standard within strict deadlines.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the tender process alongside the Enterprise Team (Enterprise Account Manager and Sales Executive) including opportunity pipeline.
* Attend all required external customer engagement with the Enterprise Team.
* Responsible for taking the Minutes of Meeting to distribute to the team and store on the Tender Portal (TenderEyes).
* Support Field visits with the Enterprise Team to help map out current 3rd party solutions where required.
* Formulates strategic solutions along with the Enterprise Team for pan-pathology tenders comprising of multiple third parties which supplement the Abbott offering and meet the customers technical, contractual, and financial specification.
* Supports the Enterprise Team to manage pre-tender activities and provide sales/technical knowledge to help gain insight to be successful in the tender/RFP.
* Responsible for searching and identifying all opportunities including frameworks and tenders.
* Leading from a tender document and project management perspective on everything from small single Instrument tenders all the way to Multisite, Pan Pathology Tender opportunities. Value from £125K to £500m+ in the most extreme examples once experience and competence allows.
* Manage the Abbott relationship with third party suppliers to get the best bid from them for Abbott, including training and support for technical responses.
* Supporting the Enterprise Team in the handover of successful bids to the Implementation Team, Contracts team and Customer Experience team to ensure.
