Meraki Talent is currently looking to recruit a Legal Counsel, Commercial Contracts (NQ-4PQE Lawyer) to join a market leading, global, US headquartered Asset Management Firm. This opportunity is a permanent position in the financial services industry based in Edinburgh
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their Commercial Contracts career by gaining experience working in-house with a multi-national heavyweight of the finance industry.
You will have lots of client contact working on your own portfolio of business (with support and oversight). Embedded within a team of Asset Managers you will support their client base on the legal document side.
Duties and responsibilities of the ideal candidate:
* The team focuses on the drafting, negotiation, co-ordination and execution of general commercial agreements, investment management agreements, investment guidelines or criteria, and related documentation for new clients and existing clients.
* Assist with driving the contact process from initial drafting through negotiation to completion;
* This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Legal Team, Risk and other stakeholders across the business to become a trusted advisor;
* Advise on Investment Management agreements
* You will help manage expectations when negotiating agreements and make amendments to mitigate risk to the business
* The sales team will also require ad-hoc assistance with contract queries from you
About You
* Ideally Newly Qualified-4PQE Lawyer (with commercial contracts, corporate or banking/transactional seat) Senior paralegal would potentially be considered.
* Some experience or exposure to financial services with negotiating and drafting experience is a real plus
* Interest in the banking / asset management industry
