Customer Service Advisor – Community Equipment Services Team
Permanent, Part Time - 20 hours per week (4 week days per week including Monday and Tuesday, 9am – 2pm)
We are looking for a Customer Services Advisor to join our busy Community Equipment Services team.
At Solihull Council, we pride ourselves on being a Council that is small enough to care, but big enough to make a difference.
In this rewarding role, you will assist in providing equipment and specialist items to the community in a timely and responsive manner to meet the needs of individuals, their families, and carers, thereby supporting individuals being discharged from hospital to live independently and improve their quality of life.
Located in Unit 5, Elmdon Trading Estate in Bickenhill, Solihull, you will be responsible for processing referrals and repair requests, as well as ordering stock and responding to general requests and enquiries on behalf of the Community Equipment services.
We are looking for a customer-focused person who likes variety within their role.
To be successful in the role you will have:
1. Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject such as Business Administration, Customer Services, or similar, or you will be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge through extended experience and training in a customer-focused administrative role.
2. Experience of providing excellent customer service in a busy environment.
3. Experience of dealing with challenging or distressed customers and effectively handling complaints.
4. Confident IT skills able to use databases, Microsoft Office (or similar), and the internet.
The service operates between Monday to Friday, 08:15am - 16:15pm.
In return, we are offering the opportunity to play a key role in delivering Solihull’s care services for its local community. Working for Solihull we can also offer:
1. A competitive salary.
2. Training, development, and career progression opportunities.
3. Hybrid working - after the initial induction period there will be an option to work from home 2 days a week.
4. Generous annual leave entitlements with the opportunity to buy up to 10-days additional leave per year.
5. Access to our Employee Assistance Programme – a 24-hour independent, free, and confidential advice and support service.
6. Family and carer-friendly policies.
7. Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
8. Employee benefits including staff discounts, cash back savings, and other high street offers; subsidised travel passes and Cycle 2 Work Scheme.
