The starting salary for a Police Constable is £29,907.00.
Salary will increase yearly on the anniversary of your start date and by pay awards, which are generally effective from 1st September in any year. Maximum salary after 7 years’ service as a Police Constable is £48,231.000

About the role
As a Police Constable no two days are the same, it’s a demanding yet hugely rewarding role.
Ensuring the safety of the public by preventing and responding to crime
Crime Prevention
Emergency Response- provide assistance and safely manage and control situations
Investigations- gather evidence, prepare detailed reports to support legal proceedings
Community Engagement- build trust and positive relationships with the local communities of Wiltshire
Conflict Resolution- mediate and defuse difficult situations calmly and professionally
Support and protect victims and vulnerable individuals
Following successful completion of probation; and as a substantive Police Constable you will have the ability to consider a wide range of opportunities for progression and specialism within the Force.

What you will be doing
The Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) offers a two year comprehensive programme of training, with a blend of classroom based and operational study.
You will be assessed throughout your two year training programme, on your knowledge, skills and behaviours however unlike other entry routes you will not be required to complete an academic qualification as part of your training.
During your first 24 weeks of initial training (including two scheduled weeks holiday) you will undertake your initial Police Learning Phase (IPL) you will be provided with a timetable for this period, typically it is Monday-Friday 09:00am- 17:00pm at Wiltshire Police Headquarters. Please note that no leave other than the scheduled two weeks can be taken during your first 24 weeks as an officer.
Following your initial training you will then join one of our Local Policing Teams to gain practical on the job experience with a three months Tutorship.

Educational Requirements:
You must have achieved English GCSE (A*-C/9-4) or an equivalent Level 2 qualification (e.g. Functional Skills, O-Level or CSE Grade 1)
and two A-Levels (A-E) or equivalent
If you do not have two A Levels but do have at least one year of professional experience working in areas such as those below, we encourage you to apply. (Note that this is not an exhaustive list and all previous experience will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.):
