Job Description
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in providing engineering/maintenance services to the hub facility, contributing to the maintenance of the MHE system.
On a daily basis, this role involves following the procedures necessary to assist in all aspects of maintenance relating to an automated sort system, including but not limited to powered conveyor systems, telescopic conveyors, scanning, proximity and x-ray technology, chutes, and caster/roller decks.
It is the responsibility of the post holder to actively contribute to system functionality at all times to achieve or exceed the Service Level Agreement (SLA) in an organised, efficient, timely, and safe manner.
Success Criteria
The Maintenance Engineer reports daily to the Maintenance Engineering Supervisor and directly to the Site Engineering Manager. The purpose of this role is to maintain the automated sort system and carry out maintenance, repairs, and system recovery activities, working under their own initiative and as required/directed by the Maintenance Engineering Supervisor and Site Engineering Manager.
- Actively contribute to system functionality at all times, efficiently, timely, and in a safe manner.
- System knowledge extending to third-party equipment, including but not limited to X-Ray machines, cameras, laser barcode reading, static and dynamic weighing, ULD handling, and telescopic booms.
- 24/7 operational support - standard shift pattern: 4 days, 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 nights, 4 off.
Education/Qualifications
- 17th Edition
- A-Level/BTEC educated with good mechanical electrical experience or
- Mechanical/electrical apprentice with appropriate experience.
- Full Driving Licence
Experience
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance role in an automated or similar regulated environment.
