SEMH Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience in working with children and/or adults who have Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs.
This role is working with a KS3 group of children with EHCP's for SEMH within a school based in Northumberland. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting students’ mental health, and assist with creating a nurturing learning environment. The TA will be working closely with staff and students in order to effectively assist and guide students through any challenges that they may have.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support sessions for students, focusing on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques.
Assist in the development and implementation of education and healthcare plans for students with mental health concerns.
Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers regarding this.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.
Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times, and accurately report any concerns.
Strong behaviour management.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting. We will also consider those with experience supporting adults with similar needs.
