About the role:
Trust is a valuable commodity. It is not given or kept easily. And when it comes to trust, what matters to stakeholders is changing. They want to know that companies are who they say they are and do what they say they do. That is why today, organisations are being judged on more than financial performance, with reporting on other areas playing a more important role in building stakeholder trust. Independent, high quality assurance is increasingly expected. Corporate reporting remains the first port of call for investors trying to understand business performance and prospects - and the risks associated with them.
Within PwC's Non-Financial Assurance practice, you'll have the opportunity to work with a market leading team and across a diverse portfolio of clients, from owner managed businesses, private equity backed companies, up to large multinational and listed groups. We work with well-known clients across a broad range of industries including entertainment and media, pharmaceuticals, technology and communications, energy, utilities and mining, retail, hospitality and leisure, business services, construction and real estate. We also work across the third sector, spanning a number of government and public sector clients and charities. You'll also have the opportunity to work on global projects, collaborating with PwC colleagues and clients all over the world.
As a Manager in Non-Financial Assurance, you will specialise in developing and delivering ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) assurance on our clients' ESG reporting, which are made either voluntarily or, increasingly, in compliance with mandatory reporting requirements.
What your days will look like:

2. Leading the planning and delivery of assurance on clients' ESG reporting;
3. Managing teams to deliver a project both on time and on budget;
4. Coaching and developing junior team members;
5. Developing and supporting new opportunities and propositions;

This role is for you if:
1. Must possess a Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualification (or an international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country;
2. Leading the planning of complex non-financial assurance engagements including the identification of risk and controls and the performance and review of relevant audit testing in line with PwC and regulatory standards;
3. The ability to apply independent judgement during engagements and to support conclusions reached by management;
4. Market development, including experience of identifying opportunities, building and managing client relationships, leading/being involved with tenders and/or significant client pitches;
5. Knowledge and experience of ESG subject matters and reporting developments in this area;
6. Knowledge and understanding of some key non-financial assurance reporting and assurance standards, such as ISAE 3000;
7. A willingness to learn new skills and help develop and innovate new client propositions;
8. Budgeting and managing project finances.
