Deputy Manager| Elderly Care Home | Preston Salary Rate: £35,000 - £37,000 Location: Chorley Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent: 37.5 hours a week / Monday to Friday Please note, this role does NOT offer sponsorship We are excited to be partnering with a well established organisation provides residential and dementia care for older adults, offering personalised support in a homely environment. With a focus on dignity, independence, and well-being, it delivers round-the-clock care, engaging activities, and specialised dementia support to enhance residents' quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Awareness of responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act. Understanding of Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs). Knowledge of quality monitoring and assurance processes. Assist with referrals, assessments, and person-centred care planning. Ensure residents' safety by maintaining safeguarding compliance. Handle complaints effectively and implement quality improvements. Oversee stock control, budget monitoring, and medication procedures. Promote high care standards in line with company policies and legislation. Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and professionals. Support staff recruitment, induction, training, and development. Conduct staff meetings, one-to-ones, and annual appraisals. Encourage an open, supportive culture and mentor staff. Manage rotas, staffing levels, leave, and sickness. Undertake on-call duties as required by the rota. Candidate Requirements: Dementia care and managing challenging behaviours experience required. Minimum NVQ Level 3 (Level 5 training provided if needed) Experience in a non-clinical managerial role, overseeing teams and operations. A compassionate and patient nature with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of elderly residents.
