Fairmead are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator on behalf of our Client.
Overview of role:
1. Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment
2. Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors
3. Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame
4. Assessing the risk levels associated with a project
5. Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done
6. Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers
7. Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field
2. Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry
3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
4. Proficiency in using estimating software and tools
5. Excellent mathematical skills with attention to detail
6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
8. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
