Associate Director of Finance - Governance and Financial Accounting

In your role as the Associate Director of Finance - Governance and Financial Accounting, you will provide strong, visible leadership across the organisation whilst delivering an excellent financial accounting and governance function. The post is responsible for managing an excellent financial accounting and governance function, that includes the oversight of capital expenditure and endowments.

The Associate Director of Finance is responsible for supporting the Deputy Director and Director of Finance in their role in providing the Board with financial and other business advice to enable the Board and the Chief Executive to properly discharge governance and relevant accountabilities.
Most recently, the organisation has led change through two significant expansion phases, building an innovative and award-winning new Ophthalmology centre, with a second significant expansion recently opened in September 2024.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, the post is responsible for engaging services, including lead clinicians, in ensuring good governance is adhered to throughout the organisation. This is a senior role providing financial leadership and timely financial planning through the reporting of information and expert financial advice to the senior management teams of the organisation.
The successful candidate will hold a professional accountancy body (CCAB or CIMA) qualification and will be able to demonstrate extensive senior financial management experience.
The NHS Golden Jubilee University Hospital is Scotland's largest National Treatment centre, delivering services for Scotland across Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Endoscopy, General Surgery, as well as world-class leading National services such as Heart Transplant.

1. Experience of developing and implementing financial process improvements
2. Experience of developing financial strategies leading to transformation and system-wide change
3. Excellent people management skills and the ability to work effectively in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
