Ward 302 is looking for a forward-thinking, visible leader to join the team as a Charge Nurse/ Sister. We are looking for an individual that is enthusiastic to drive change and improvement on an acute ward. You will be expected to ensure that professionalism and high standards of care are upheld at all times.
Ward 302 cares for acutely unwell Oncology, Haematology, and General Medical patients admitted directly from assessment units and the Emergency Department, providing a varied and diverse work environment.
Applicants must hold a current NMC registration and must be able to demonstrate post-registration experience. Leadership experience would be preferable; however, this will be an ongoing developmental area of the role. The successful applicant needs to be able to work a range of shifts including days and nights.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a compassionate individual that can demonstrate excellent communication skills and is committed to driving change forward.
Applicants will need to be a visible, reliable, and flexible leader ensuring high standards of care are given at all times.
The successful candidate will be able to deputise for the Senior Sister in their absence. They will be able to build professional working relationships and provide supportive management to the team.

* Current NMC Registration
* Demonstrable Clinical Experience
* Leadership Experience
Knowledge and Experience
* IT literate
* Experience of mentoring/ supervising learners in the clinical environment
* Evidence of understanding of the clinical area applied for
* Demonstrates understanding of clinical governance and identifying and managing risks
* Assessor/ supervisor training or equivalent
* PNA qualification or willingness to complete
* Can evidence understanding of the CQC and its application in the clinical setting
Skills
* Experience of taking charge / leading a team on shift
