FAL Systems is a leading Broadcast Systems Integration company, specializing in the design and build of state-of-the-art Outside Broadcast Studios. We are currently looking to expand our team with a dedicated and enthusiastic Trainee Coach Builder / Fitter / Fabricator / Welder.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Trainee Coach Builder, you will be working alongside skilled professionals to develop and build high-quality vehicles and studios.
Initially you will:
* Collecting parts and materials from suppliers and manufacturers
* Receiving deliveries and ensuring stock is correctly stored
* Maintaining a clean and organised workspace, including general housekeeping tasks
As your skills develop you will:
* Assist with the construction of custom-built vans and vehicle bodies
* Welding and fabrication of metal structures and components
* Building script desks to precise specifications to house Audio and Video equipment
* Trimming vehicles with carpet and vinyl finishes
* Using electrical power tools safely and effectively
* Delivering equipment to sites both locally and across the UK
Please note: Due to our wide range of clients across the UK, this role will require flexibility, including occasional travel and overnight stays to areas including Manchester & Bracknell.
Key Attributes & Skills:
We are looking for someone with a passion for hands-on work and a willingness to learn.
* Some previous experience or knowledge of coach building, welding, or fabrication (desirable but not essential)
* Ability to take accurate measurements and follow detailed technical instructions
* A keen interest in learning new skills
* Strong initiative and the ability to work independently
* A valid driving license is essential
* A flexible attitude to working off-site, including overnight stays when required
* Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks

Location: Leeds
Salary: National Minimum
Hours: Monday–Thursday: 7:30am – 5:30pm | Friday: 7:30am – 3:00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £8.60-£11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 42.5 per week
