Job Summary
Please note that these positions are temporary for six months.
Summary role purpose:
Work directly with collection crews, gathering service data to monitor performance, ensure compliance and assist the Council to meet national objectives and targets.
Support the monitoring, review and expansion of all existing schemes and facilities including the Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Carry out waste compositions on all service users as required, improving the Council's waste minimisation and developing services as necessary.
Analyse data and provide and present performance level reports to support the management team.
Promote the recycling and waste minimisation services throughout the Local Authority area and advise and assist residents, schools, and businesses on how to recycle and minimise waste.
Assist in the delivery of waste service programs and educational packages to householders, schools, and all service users as necessary.
Act as a point of contact for waste enquiries and utilise Council systems to ensure that all enquiries are effectively managed in accordance with Council Policies.
Support the performance of the Waste Services Team through a culture of teamwork and flexibility, contributing to the overall success of the Council.
Support in the collation of information for all media responses and day-to-day enquiries.
Work to continuously improve service delivery and performance of the Waste Services Team.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.
In specific circumstances, the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by HR Services Lead.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
