SEND Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD, assisting with their personal care, communication, and educational needs. Work closely with teaching staff and therapists to implement individual learning and care plans tailored to each student’s needs. Use your initiative and proactive approach to adapt activities and strategies to engage students and promote their independence. Be an empathetic and patient presence in the classroom, fostering a positive and supportive environment for the students. Assist with sensory and therapeutic activities, contributing to the enrichment of students' lives and promoting their well-being. Essential Qualities: Experience in a PMLD school or residential setting with PMLD service users is highly desirable. A Social Care degree or similar qualification would be well-suited to this role. Manual Handling and Child and Adult Level 2 Safeguarding qualifications are advantageous. Strong empathy, patience, and emotional resilience, with a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND.
