We are currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our acute directorate based at Great Oaks Hospital in Scunthorpe. The role combines Clinical Leadership of the Occupational Therapists in the acute pathway, alongside working clinically into the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team.
The Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team in Mental Health Services are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and skilled Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join their team to drive forward the development of the Occupational Therapy pathway within CRHTT. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Occupational Therapist who has a strong understanding of the contribution of Occupational Therapists in supporting individuals in mental health crisis. The role also consists of Clinical Leadership of the Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy assistant on the acute adult and older people wards.
In this role you will support the ward OT team clinically by leading and developing the occupational therapy delivery, which includes Occupational therapists at band 5 and 6, rotational OT's, OT apprentices, and OT assistants. You will have the opportunity to contribute to quality improvement projects to improve the quality of the inpatient experience for our service users.
Main duties of the job
The job is varied and challenging and offers the opportunity to be an integral part of the acute pathway. Key elements of the post include:
1. Taking the lead on the development of recovery and occupation focused interventions.
2. Building and refining a CRHTT occupational therapy pathway.
3. Providing clinical leadership to junior staff (inc. Band 6 & 5 OT's, OT apprentices, OT assistants and support staff).
4. Providing skills and training for the team in both CRHT and the acute wards.
5. Working effectively as a member of the pathway in providing an appropriate range of assessments & treatments for patients experiencing an acute mental health need.
6. Planning & implementing short-term and/or group interventions in collaboration with patients.
7. Being accountable for leading and delivering high-quality occupational therapy care within a defined clinical area or pathway and being responsible for providing expert clinical practice with advanced clinical reasoning.
8. Providing clinical leadership and supervision to support and develop staff within their work and leading evaluation and development of clinical practice.
Have a firm understanding of Best Practice Principles for CRHT and acute services & apply this to clinical practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Registration with Health and Care Professions Council.
Experience
* Significant post registration experience with demonstrable experience at senior level in mental health services/applicable to specialism area.
* Supervisory and/or management responsibility for staff.
* Documented evidence of continuing professional development.

£46,148 to £52,809 a year per annum, pro rata.
