Making animals’ lives better makes life better – join our team today Position Description : The primary responsibility of the role is to be Site Discipline Engineer for Electrical. Acting as the “dutyholder” in relation to certain statutory requirements and specifically in relation to responsibilities, within their discipline, as outlined by COMAH requirements. We are a high voltage site and have our own power regeneration plant. Functions, Duties, Tasks 1. CONSULTANCY/TECHNICAL ROLE : Provide engineering and technical advice to the site and TriRx where needed. As required, or requested update and/or develop site engineering standards in consultation with other site engineering personnel or groups. A Discipline or Responsible Engineer has specific responsibilities associated with; statutory needs (e.g. COMAH) and company procedures that are set out in relevant guidance/legislation etc. Engineers will ensure that they work with management to ensure their knowledge and experience remains current in relevant subject areas through appropriate professional development activities. They are responsible to ensure the site management system for their discipline is current to UK requirements, and where needed improvements are driven are rolled out across the site. The engineer must perform regular active monitoring to ensure these standards are upheld. The engineer is required to act as the electrical specialist for excavation and switch room permits. The engineer will hold primary responsibility for the Electrical Authorisation Process on site The engineer will hold responsibilities relating to DSEAR 2. PROJECT MANAGEMENT May act as user representative or user project manager for electrical projects for the site. Responsible for the site strategy for electrical infrastructure and gaining support for investment where needed building and defining the business case. 3. EMERGENCY RESPONSE : Key member of the site Emergency Response Management Team acting to advise on site electrical rules in an emergency event. Also responsible for response to emergency plant down situations to either provide onsite response to return equipment or to investigate the root cause of the event and return equipment to service. 4. DEVELOPMENT The site electrical engineer must commit to the development of the onsite craft and support team to ensure that they are progressing to the electrical authorization level required fort heir role. The Site engineer is responsible o map out the training requirements of these other individuals. They coach and mentor the individuals and ensure that a final competency assessment is completed. This role may be combined with other site roles such as project manager, reliability engineer, lean agent, management roles.
