Due to rapid growth and continuous success we are currently seeking an Assistant Electrical Supervisor to join our Fortem team at Amplius Housing on a permanent basis. You will be covering a patch from Rushden, Northamptonshire, St Neots, Huntington and Peterborough, so travel is essential. Work Van and Fuel Card and excellent company benefits package included!
The role involves carrying out all aspects of Electrical Repairs and maintenance to Social Housing Properties and you will be required to cover for the Electrical Supervisor in their absence. We expect this role to be 90% on the tools and 10% supervisory and leadership (Although 100% Supervisory when covering for Line manager absence). So this will suit any qualified Electrician looking for career development.
Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm + Generous paid Out of hours on call Rota (Average 1 in 6 week). You will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. You will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional around the tenants.
The Customer
Fortem’s successful contract with Amplius supports nearly 8,000 houses, and we’re expecting that to increase significantly in 2025. Our contract includes Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works and FRA workstreams with plans to expand into Planned Works and Preventative Maintenance as well.
Duties and Responsibilities
This role will include:
1. Signing off certifications, electrical inspections on all electrical operatives and sub contractors, minimum one per month for each.
2. Advising on electrical issues as required and assisting with Check box checks on all test equipment.
3. Providing Periodic Safe Isolation refreshers for our Safe isolation trained operatives.
4. Work Streams will include - Reactive Maintenance, Planned Works and Voids providing a make safe service.
5. Installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances in accordance with the current Edition of The IET Wiring Regulations.
6. Installation, repair, inspect & test electrical installations and fill in the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report correctly.
7. Carry out EICRs and remedial upgrades as required.
8. Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
9. Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
10. Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures.
11. Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
12. Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with the Repairs Planning team and colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.
13. Completing daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken.
What you will need
Essential criteria:
* C&G 2360 Part 1&2 Electrotechnical Competences plus the NVQ 3 Certificate. 2356 with Technical Certs L2&3 plus the NVQ 3 Certificate. or NVQ 3 2356 certificate
* C&G 18th Edition Certificate
* C&G 2391 or Testing & Inspecting Certificate 2394 and 2395
* Full UK driving license (Max 5 points)
Desirable:
* Unvented Hot Water Certificate Water Regulations Certificate Part P
* JIB Gold Card Approved Electrician
* PAT Certificate
* Social Housing experience
