What you'll be doing: End-to-End Testing & Commissioning: Lead the testing and commissioning of network cabling, ensuring flawless installation and splicing for optimal performance Cable Record Management: Create and manage cable ‘birth certificates,’ ensuring accurate documentation in inventory systems for seamless network tracking Fusion & Mechanical Splicing: Perform precise fusion and, when needed, mechanical splices to modify and expand the optical network Fibre Fault Resolution: Quickly respond to and resolve fibre faults, including fibre breaks, partnering with third parties to replace sections when necessary Plan & Execute Diversionary Work: Strategically plan fibre and splicing needs to meet diversionary work directives and ensure continuity of network service Innovate & Contribute to Network Growth: Support the evolution of toob Ltd by addressing fibre-related challenges and driving improvement as we grow Process Development: Collaborate with internal teams to refine and document new processes as fibre network requirements evolve Network Build Installation: Oversee the installation of network enclosures and cabling, contributing to a robust and efficient network infrastructure Network Auditing & Improvement: Conduct internal audits on the passive network, identifying and resolving issues to ensure the longevity and quality of legacy network areas. What you'll bring to the role: Fibre Deployment: Skilled in fibre deployment, splicing, and testing, preferably in FTTH/FTTP environments Design Translation: Ability to translate fibre designs and splicing schedules Installation: Proven experience in the installation and connection of blown fibre tubing Testing Practices: Familiar with OTDR and IOLM testing practices Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of blown fibre tubing integrity tests(essential) and Exfo test units/Testflow software (desirable) Asset Management: Competent with asset management software and as-built record creation Contractor Management: Experience liaising with or managing contractors and subcontractors PIA Qualified: Certified to work at height on Openreach poles (desirable) Holder of the right to work in the UK without restriction Meet the company van insurance parameters and maintain the vehicle in line with company driving and care standards Willing to travel across our Hampshire and Surrey sites Hold certification standards ideally including NRSWA SLG O1, SA001 & SA002, PIA S7 & PIA S8, IPAF 1b.
