Hays Accountancy and Finance are currently recruiting and working in partnership with a large public sector organisation for the appointment of a Senior Finance Officer offering apetitive salary and public benefits. This is a temporary role with a good chance of contract extension, with an immediate start depending on the candidate's availability.You will be responsible for a range of duties, which include the provision of financial management information, assisting in the preparation of the Office’s Annual Accounts, and managing a small team and the provision of finances for the organisation as a whole.Job Duties;
5. Produce monthly financial/management accounting information.
6. Assist with the preparation of Annual Accounts in accordance with Treasury and Department of Finance and personnel guidance incorporating IFRS.
7. Analyse and present financial data.
8. Maintain and review the asset registers.
9. Engage with internal and external auditors, including the Northern Ireland Audit Office, in the provision and presentation of financial information.
10. Develop and review financial IT systems.
11. Provide advice and guidance on the use and interpretation of financial information and accounting requirements and best practice.
12. Draft and implement financial policies, procedures and controls in line with best practice and appropriate guidelines.
13. Manage the financial processing and procurement functions according to correct procedure and guidelines.
14. Manage staff and other resources.
15. Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring that the Finance Department provides the best value and with professional service, including developing and maintaining performance indicators for each function.
What you’ll need to succeed:
16. Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA)
17. QBE will be considered.
Have at least 1 year’s practical post qualification experience in any one of, orbination of, the following:
18. Direct experience in the production of accruals based financial statements.
19. Direct experience in the production of management accounts including budgets / forecasts and variance reporting.
