The Registered Nurse at Aspen Centre - Dermatology Outpatient role will be an exciting opportunity to advance your career. Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers a countywide Dermatology service, and this post will be based at Aspen Centre, Gloucester. We are looking for a compassionate Nurse leader to help deliver high standards of care and work well within a multidisciplinary team.
You will be working with the Band 6 sister and dermatology specialist nurses, who will support you in achieving the necessary competencies. You should also be able to demonstrate consistent development of your knowledge to provide patients with advanced treatment options.
Main duties of the job
You will communicate effectively and actively participate in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to aid patient care. You will need effective clinical skills to cover minor operations and clinics as allocated.
Establish a friendly working environment and support the clinic as allocated through the rota. Act as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise and delivering individual patient care. As a Registered Nurse, you are expected to proactively engage in education and development, ensuring relevance to the practice area and individual needs.
The candidate should demonstrate excellent skills and the ability to work in a busy environment. Promote excellent teamwork and interdisciplinary relationships, and the ability to work flexibly is essential. Ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained and support with risk assessments.
Work closely with specialist nurses, doctors, senior nurses, healthcare assistants, and matrons to ensure the operational delivery of high-quality care, clinical safety, and effective clinical governance within given resources. Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and the professional code of conduct.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Council.
* Experience of working in Dermatology as one of the areas of practice.
Experience
* Good theoretical knowledge of dermatology medical conditions and procedures.
* Ability to switch between different activities and unpredictable demands in meeting outpatient activities.
* Range of clinical competencies as required for fulfilling the role and a willingness to seek training.
* Advanced IT skills that include the use of hospital IT systems and patient portals.
* Ability to develop skills related to absence management and recruitment and retention of staff.
Knowledge/ Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate for clinical purposes, negotiation, leadership, and influence, which may include highly sensitive and contentious information.
* Working knowledge of safety and governance frameworks and standards (including confidentiality, freedom of information, Caldicott regulations, and CQC essential standards).
* Identifies potential health, safety, and security issues and collaborates with others to promote and maintain an environment that supports infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
* Able to prioritize own workload and possess personal resilience to manage complexity and work in an ambiguous or changing environment.
* Awareness of the Equality and Diversity agenda that sustains relationships promoting dignity, rights, and responsibilities.
