Job Title: Faculty Non-Tenure Track-9 Mo Physical Location: Kent Campus - Kent, OH Salary: Basic Function: The College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State University (KSU) invites candidates to apply for a full-time faculty non-tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank or Lecturer/Associate Lecturer rank in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, and related disciplines for a start date of Fall 2025. Additional Basic Function – if applicable: Examples of Duties: Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: Faculty are expected to remain current in their field, which includes maintaining appropriate certifications in some disciplines. Faculty will have an assigned load that includes teaching courses at undergraduate and graduate levels using a variety of formats, including in-person and online. Candidates must demonstrate that they can design and deliver course content effectively, facilitate discussions, and provide students with feedback and guidance to support student success. Faculty are expected to prepare course materials such as syllabi, assignments, exams, and handouts, and to prepare and deliver learning activities to achieve course outcomes. Faculty responsibilities include performing student learning outcome assessment for accreditation purposes and support of the accreditation process. Faculty will evaluate and grade students’ course work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations; and will maintain and submit student grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines. Faculty are expected to be available to students for office hours and out of classroom academic support; and should be sensitive to the needs of a diverse population. Faculty are expected to attend meetings relative to teaching duties, training and development, and college activities. Some NTT faculty may also have load for administrative tasks, research, or other duties as assigned. Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable: Minimum Qualifications: M.S. degree at the time of hire in mechatronics engineering, electrical engineering, robotics engineering, controls engineering, or related field. Demonstrated skills in communication, both oral and written, including ability to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner with clear instructions. Demonstrated history of professionalism in their interactions with students, colleagues, and/or industry partners. Preferred Qualifications – if applicable: A doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., etc.) in a relevant field of study. Demonstrated experience in innovative teaching methods, including online learning. Relevant industry experience. Previous teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate levels. Assessments: Asterisk () indicates knowledge, skills, abilities which require assessments Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
