Location: Kidlington, Home Address (Hybrid)
Rank/Grade: TVP Broad Band 5L
Contract Type: Secondment/Fixed Term Contract for 9 months
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Accountant to join the Accounts Team. The successful candidate will take the lead role for the Force in budgeting, reporting and monitoring spend.
This role will lead a team of 4 who are responsible for several areas, such as pensions reporting, seized cash, equity loans, balance sheets and suspense ledger reconciliations. This role will also take a lead role on implementation projects, ensuring that the full end to end process, including systems, is understood and that Finance requirements are documented, discussed and implemented.
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude to change, has a proven track record of leading teams, simplifying processes and strong influencing skills. There are some technical areas within this role so experience of month end, year end close procedures and ledger reconciliations are vital.
We want someone who can build strong working relationships, is open to challenging the ‘as-is’ and solutions focused. Knowledge of Public Sector would be good but not essential.
If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. Important: All secondments are assumed supported and that your line manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy are aware of your intention to apply. If the secondment is not supported then a strong business rationale must be sent to RecruitmentPoliceStaff@thamesvalley.police.uk quoting the reference number for the role.
Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
