SWWOP Project Manager (8 month Maternity Cover)

Job Description:
Specific Responsibilities:
* Provide effective leadership and management for the SWWOP project including employees and volunteers. The project manager has overall responsibility for 6 office staff, 5 paid outreach staff, and around 10 volunteers.
* Ensure appropriate support is in place for employees, standards are maintained, and learning and development needs are identified and addressed.
* Undertake regular one-to-one supervision with staff.
* Develop and sustain close and productive relationships with external bodies and stakeholder groups including funders and others.
* Maintain the values of the project including empathy with the distinctive client group.
* Recruit and oversee the training of volunteers and ensure they are suitable for the tasks given and that all staff are DBS certified.
* Access regular supervision with the Chair of Trustees or other appointed person.
* Deliver the project in accordance with the regulations of the funding bodies.
* Plan and implement developments and improvements in the service to meet requirements.
* Ensure that all records of volunteers and users are maintained in line with policies and confidentiality, equal opportunities, the Data Protection Act, and the evaluation requirements of the Project.
* Produce regular management information and reports for multi-agency meetings, trustee meetings, and other relevant bodies.
* Undertake regular workload and caseload reviews.
* Manage and monitor budgets and funding programs and ensure good financial management to meet targets.
* Maintain regular communication with the project trustees.
* Prepare service plans and produce team action plans ensuring an outcome-focused approach to prioritization of resources and performance.
* Work within an anti-discrimination framework.
* Carry out and monitor all risk assessments relating to the environment and activities.
* Attend and be present at events to represent the charity.
* Understand priorities for street sex workers ensuring there is a clear link between funding and projects.
* Develop and lead the fundraising strategy in line with project aims.
* Use data and evidence to ensure partnerships, projects, initiatives, and events are data-led, outcomes are clearly defined from the beginning, and there is evidence need from clients.
Person Specification – Please give details of your experience in the following areas:
* Experience of working in 1 or more of the following areas: domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, sexual violence, social care.
* Proven project coordination/management skills including ability to liaise and build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
* Experience of managing a team including volunteers, with experience of supervision and appraisal processes and procedures.
* A proactive approach to addressing potential project challenges and problem-solving with the ability to think creatively and under pressure.
* Excellent organisational skills and able to keep track of multiple tasks and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Managing and overseeing data systems to ensure production and delivery of regular reports for Trustees and external funders.
* Able to work independently, prioritise tasks and ensure they are concluded successfully within relevant deadlines.
* High level of computer literacy and comfortable learning new systems and applications.
* Accustomed to taking decisions and having a high level of personal accountability.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge and application of good practice in safeguarding adults and children.
