CNC MACHINISTS – MILLING OR TURNING RHONDDA CYNON TAFF PERMANENT £35K - £43K Our client is looking for skilled CNC Machinists with experience working on a variety of machines and systems, including Variaxis, CV5, Integrex, Nexus Mill, MSY Turn, Alpha 2-axis, and 2-axis Mazak. Candidates should have a strong background in programming, setting and operating CNC machinery, with specific experience in multi-axis machining and mill-turn systems. Familiarity with CNC turning, milling, and the ability to work across different machine types will be a distinct advantage. We are particularly interested in candidates with the ability to independently program and set CNC machines to ensure high-precision machining operations. Working in a fast-paced environment, the ideal candidate must have a background in either CNC Milling or CNC Turning. The ability to work from engineering drawings is essential, as is knowledge and experience of programming on CNC Machines, preferably with Mazatrol control systems. Our client DOES NOT offer sponsorship. Purpose of the Role: To set and run machines in which you are trained, ensuring maximum production is achieved to quality standards. You will also inspect parts produced, notifying the team of any areas of concern. You will create and adjust setups, and programs as required to maximize production efficiency. Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities: • Communicate with Team Leaders or Supervisors regarding any issues relating to production, including parts not meeting tolerance specifications. • Support operators in machine setups, particularly with complex systems such as Variaxis, CV5, Integrex, Nexus Mill, and MSY Turn. • Work effectively and efficiently, making precise machine adjustments as required to ensure optimal performance. • Operate and maintain a variety of CNC machines, including multi-axis and mill-turn configurations, while adhering to production schedules. • Ensure work aligns with the company's quality system, including on-the-job self-inspection to maintain high standards. • Collaborate with the Production Manager to meet production goals and comply with all reasonable requests. • Assist in the training and development of apprentices, sharing expertise and best practices for CNC machining and setups. • Comply with all safety standards and procedures, ensuring the health and safety of all personnel within the production department in line with the Group Health and Safety policy. • Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping standards at all times to promote a safe and efficient working environment. Additional Responsibilities: • Provide expertise in setting and operating a wide range of CNC machinery • Ensure proper use of tools and programming techniques to produce high-precision components. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance production efficiency and quality. • Stay updated with advancements in CNC machining technology and methods to maintain industry-leading practices. • You may not have all the experience listed but should demonstrate the ability to grow within the role as you develop new skills. We are not directly sourcing for operators but rather CNC Programmer Setters with the defined skills to support production output. Pay: £35,000.00-£43,000.00 per year Two-shift patterns available: Shift Pattern 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm. Shift Pattern 2: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm–11:00pm, Friday 2:00pm–6:00pm (includes 15% shift allowance).
