Memory Wellbeing Centre - Volunteer Group Assistant
Overview:
St Johns Winchester is looking for a compassionate, caring, and enthusiastic volunteer group assistant to support our established Memory Wellbeing Centre in Winchester.
This centre provides a welcoming, supportive environment for individuals living with Dementia and their carers.
We already have many valuable volunteers who support this group, but due to the success of the centre, we are looking for more!
Location of Volunteering: Winchester Sports & Leisure Centre, Bar End Road, SO23 9NR.
Time: 12.30 - 3.30 every Monday, flexibility is possible if you cannot commit to all sessions.
* Meet and greet the attendees on arrival
* Assist with set up and clearing away
* Support individuals living with Dementia in group activities, e.g. completing puzzles, baking, craft activities, light exercise (such as armchair yoga), group singing, alongside the St John’s Dementia support worker.
No personal care is required in this role.

* Experience with Dementia desirable, but not essential as support will be provided
