We offer a range of mammalian host cell lines, and a transposon-based expression system designed to rapidly identify high-expressing recombinant protein clones. Leveraging our extensive expertise in gene editing, we also provide custom cell line engineering services to tailor bioproduction cell lines for our clients' specific manufacturing needs, whether for protein-based or viral vector therapeutics. Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lab Technician (Scientist 1) to join our Bioproduction R&D team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior scientists to support internal and external client projects focused on developing and validating expression platforms for the production of biotherapeutic products. Additionally, you will be contributing to the smooth running of the Bioproduction labs which includes reagents management, organising and ordering stock and managing equipment upkeep. Following training, you will also have the opportunity to gain further support to learn scientific techniques. The ideal candidate must have hands on experience in cell line development and knowledge in a wide range of molecular and cell biology techniques. Key responsibilities: Execution of internal and external projects, supporting amongst other Cell line development work and/or gene editing projects. Contribute to the daily running of laboratory operations, including but not limited to, monitoring of consumable levels, cleaning and maintenance of laboratories and equipment. Maintaining cell lines in culture and preparing them for production workflows. Carry out tasks accurately, follow methodologies & operating procedures and record all work to the agreed company and departmental standards. Help maintain a safe and efficient working environment, comply with company policies, follow instructions. Be an effective team member in supporting projects and activities in the Bioproduction R&D team. Work with Scientific and non-scientific staff to enable smooth running of the labs. Essential Competencies & Requirements: Scientific degree with at least 2 years hands on experience in cell line development in an industry setting. Practical experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques. Strong team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, and attention to detail, leading to reliable results.
