Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Design, the Senior Designer is responsible for the direction and creation of the Adidas Stella McCartney collection from concept to completion. This role will involve working closely with all Designers to ensure that the collections focus on sustainable, quality garments.
This is a 13-month fixed-term contract for maternity cover.
Your Mission:
1. Lead and support the Head of Design across all Adidas SMC collections, working from creative concept to completion.
2. Develop flat sketches and detailed tech packs, researching seasonal themes and inspirations in collaboration with the Head of Design.
3. Stay up to date with current sportswear trends, innovations, and technologies, and create new concepts.
4. Work collaboratively with key departments, including Merchandising and Product Development, on new fabric developments and fabric selection for the collections.
5. Implement seasonal colour palettes as requested by the Head of Design team.
6. Create sketches and, in some cases, cadding designs for handoff to tech design at Adidas for all Adidas Stella McCartney collaborations.
7. Ensure that all sketches are defined and put into development each season.
8. Work closely with design assistants to support their development in their roles.
9. Participate in fittings in-house and at the manufacturer.
10. Establish effective working relationships with the support tech team in Adidas, Germany, and fabric, trim, and product teams overseas.
11. Strong sketch realisation.
12. Proficient in fittings and confident in following through styles from sketch to production.
13. Communicate daily with cross-functional partners, both internal and global.
14. Support sample management and showroom set-up.
15. Oversee and support the updating of collection, style, and mood boards regularly.
16. Handle the development of each garment before handing over to Production, working closely with Machinists, Pattern Cutters, and Garment Techs.
17. Develop and create new best sellers.
18. Travel when needed to support the business.

9. Comfortable working additional hours, including weekends, and willing to travel when necessary.
10. Impeccable presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
11. Must have strong computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
12. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
13. Creative thinker with the ability to think outside the box and an eye for detail.
14. Flexible to travel.
