Production Manager required for an designer and manufacturer of fuel injection pipes based in the Southampton area.
Production Manager - Engineering Position Overview
- Ensure the timely and consistent delivery of all production demand
- Oversee planning, scheduling, purchasing, costing, safe-working and training plans to timely delivery occurs
- Oversee CNC Manufacture and skilled bench assembly work
- Develop plans designed for effective skills cover and staff progression to better enable timely a cost-effective delivery
- On-site role in Southampton, U.K.
- Contribute meaningfully to the New Design process - design for manufacture is key to our continued success; your input should be alert to our product(s) and founded in sound production and process knowledge.
- Stock control (including stocktake management)
- Site planned maintenance
- Welfare and discipline of all Production staff
- Required to cost and present business cases for the implementation of new equipment having determined where this is key to further improvements in cycle time and reliability
- Report monthly on key performance targets and take a proactive role in the management and the growth of the firm.
- You will report to the Managing Director.
Production Manager - Engineering Position Requirements
- Ability to build effective working relationships
- Able to work closely with the Quality Team, the Chargehand and the CNC Section Leader to ensure timely supply
- Able to delegate effectively
- You must be able to work with candour, compassion and able to communicate your visions for further improvement effectively
- Experience in the Production Management or Scheduling of small quantity complex products of mechanical nature and in the supervision of staff
- A sound engineering background such as an apprenticeship is desirable, and the ability to realise and solve technical problems is essential
- Ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings
- You will be punctual, reliable
- Experience in Scheduling software and Enterprise or Materials Planning software
- Familiar with the concept of BOM, Work Instruction Sheets and Manufacturing Instructions (or similar)
- Experience in SME policy and disciplinary procedures is desirable
- Knowledge of working within and contributing to the maintenance and progression of an ISO9001:2015 system
- CNC machining and Inspection experience
- Knowledge of Stores procedures and current
- SME Human Resources regulation knowledge

1. Company health care cover and annual bonus. On site parking and company mobile phone is provided for this role.
2. Salary depending on experience but likely £44k-£52k
