Description Assistant General Manager, Full Time Hours - 6 Month FTC We’re about to go into our customer peak, which means it’s an exciting time to join us as our Assistant Team Manager (6 Month FTC) in our Swindon DC. As a natural leader, you’ll be engaging with stakeholders at all levels, reporting into General Manager as we work together and embrace our growth. This is a great opportunity to work in partnership and deliver operational excellence and customer satisfaction, through strategy and being hands on operationally as an AGM. Key Responsibilities : Safe Culture: Ensure we operate in line with all Wincanton and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health & Safety and drive an environment of safety culture. Inclusive Leadership: Provide leadership, coaching and direction to our managers and colleagues in all warehouse areas. Providing support, guidance and performance management. Operational Responsibility: Give direction and monitor performance that assists the General Manager in ensuring our site runs efficiently and effectively with direct responsibility for Warehouse Operations and Stock Liability. Commerciality: Ensure sales, P&L and KPIS are achieved together with effective maintenance of operational standards in line with Wincanton policies and procedures. Continuous Improvement: Reflect, review and continue to deliver a great peak period through business efficiency and cost saving initiatives. Reporting and Presenting: Provide KPI / SLA reports to Senior Management team as required, providing insight and recommendations for improvement. People Resourcing: Effective people resourcing plan to meet the growing needs of the business. Engage and Inspire: Actively promote an engaging workplace, ensuring that Our People Promise is fully embedded. Inspire the team to exceed the customer contractual KPI’s & site KPI’s and drive effective communication throughout our operation, communicating planned requirements, performance updates, company news and procedures. What will you bring to our team? Experienced Assistant General Manager within warehouse operations, within a fast-paced operation (major retailer beneficial). Proven effective customer relationship experience, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Passionate to deliver results, customer centricity and experienced of managing a P&L with the General Manager. Ability to influence all stakeholders at all levels, with an inspiring leadership style celebrating success as a team. Proven experience with succeeding in building effective relationships with the ability to influence thinking to deliver high performance through a culture of accountability and ownership. Strong leadership experience in managing and building teams, through coaching, development and managing performance. What do we offer?
