KrakenFlex The energy industry is undergoing the largest transformation since industrialisation at an unprecedented rate of change and we are positioning ourselves to be at the heart of that change. Our aim is to be the leading global provider of solutions that enable customers to release £30bn of value per annum from distributed energy resources (DERs). We are building a Software as a Service (SaaS) subscription business with a global addressable market of £2.4 billion per annum, by digitally connecting hundreds of thousands of DERs with energy markets. We have already attained a market leading position and KrakenFlex is a recognised thought leader and innovator in the industry. We're seeking a Technical Business Analyst / Product Owner to collaborate with our product and technical team leads in shaping and evolving our product. The User and Identity Access Management Team develops and supports the Auth core services that manage authentication and authorization for both internal and external users on the KrakenFlex platform. We handle thousands of user accounts and millions of auth requests daily for multiple clients and internal teams. While we leverage Amazon Cognito and AWS IAM services, we've also developed our own User Management UI and permissions management systems. What you'll do Work with the Product Manager and Delivery Leads to help shape the high-level roadmap and prioritize feature development across the platform. Collaborate with customers and other business units to understand and shape requirements for the product backlog and long-term roadmap. Partner with the Technical Team Lead to support product roadmap, backlog management, feature definition, and delivery for your product areas. Contribute to building a product customers will love by participating in or running events (e.g., planning, retrospectives, discovery sessions, daily standups, 3 amigos discussions, and demos). Gather requirements from diverse stakeholders — including customers, product teams, support teams, security specialists, and partnerships. Create user stories, user journey maps, and business process flowcharts while conducting user acceptance testing, product quality sign-off, and documentation. Collaborate with software engineers on technical scope, helping determine the optimal development approach by considering technical complexity, scope, cost, timeframes, and business value. Analyze user behavior through analytics and first-hand research to guide product and design improvements. Create newsletters and blog updates to inform customers about new and upcoming features. Provide IAM and User Management expertise to internal product teams and external customers. Steer and align teams across the business towards a unified Authentication and Authorization solution What you'll need Experience in agile software development, particularly Scrum and Kanban. Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex Auth use cases and translate them into functional requirements and technical documentation. Strong facilitation skills and experience managing inception and requirements workshops. Skill in developing functional and non-functional requirements from meetings, workshops, technical specifications, and process flows. Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to getting work done. Technical expertise with AWS, Amazon Cognito, and other Identity Provider and Auth cloud services. Interest in diving deep into complex Identity Access Management, Auth, and User Management systems. Passion for clean technology and commitment to global decarbonization.
