SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) Manager JOB SPECIFICATION Reports to: Operations Director Contract: Permanent Based: Glasgow, with regular travel to regional offices (St Albans and Altrincham) and sites as required Salary: From £40,000 per annum (dependant on experience) Flexible working: There may be flexibility in working hours following successful completion of probation period and business needs. The successful candidate will be experienced in Manned Guarding and Engineering in HSE. ABOUT THE ROLE In line with statutory obligations, this role is responsible for the provision of professional advice on all SHEQ related matters. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the business consistently adheres to the highest standards across the field of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality. Lead on the delivery of our environmental strategy across the business. Be capable of advising on best practice and trends to keep our solutions up to date and future proof. Maintain and manage health and safety polices, safety training and document control systems. Maintain, update, and create standard operating procedures and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement safety projects. Conduct internal auditing. Assistance in completion of SSIP and other Accreditations. Complete regular reviews of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations. Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and that recommended improvements are actioned. Conduct safety inspections and ensure that fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported. Ensure that risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities. Conduct on site safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensure that PPE and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities. Accountable for developing and implementing the business health and safety strategy in collaboration with the wider operations team. Accountable for 100% compliance with health and safety legislation. Accountable for ensuring that employees are appropriately trained against Health & Safety and environment practices, in addition to sourcing and co-ordinating training such as first aid, fire marshal, managing safely and manual handling. Be responsible for monitoring, managing, and ordering of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) stock. Responsible for conducting night-time site visits to ensure wellbeing and safety of Security Guards – vehicle provided. Responsible for conducting day-time site visits to ensure wellbeing and safety of Engineers – vehicle provided. Management of Health & Safety signoffs. Manage company Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Implement environmental targets and ensure objectives are achieved and maintained.
