About our apprenticeships
Our apprenticeships are paid roles where you will learn and gain valuable on-the-job experience while also completing classroom-based learning either in person or virtually with a college, university, or training provider, which upon completion of the apprenticeship leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
The apprenticeship will typically be undertaken over two to six years depending on the level of the apprenticeship, and during this time you will be provided with real-life experience working on a variety of exciting projects that are helping to shape tomorrow’s world.
Job Description
As a Building Services Engineer Apprentice, your duties will include:
1. Create detailed plans, diagrams, drawings, and other documentation.
2. Use CAD and software programs to create plans and design new systems.
3. Utilise and develop Building Information Modelling (BIM) to coordinate systems.
4. Design equipment for use on-site, as and when required.
5. Attend and contribute to meetings internally and externally with clients.
6. Ensure all systems adhere to health and safety requirements.
7. Be able to work flexibly and manage your workload.
8. Have a good attention to detail; our clients demand high-quality outputs.
We are currently recruiting across the following locations: Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle.
Candidate Specification
To join us for a Building Services Engineer apprenticeship, you must meet the eligibility requirements of the relevant training provider. These are:
* 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above including English and Maths.
We are looking for students with the following characteristics:
* A methodical approach to problem-solving.
* The ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
* Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
* Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

From the moment you join us, you’ll receive the training you need. You will be assigned a mentor, who will guide you to meet the objectives of your apprentice agreement. We’ll support you on your journey to completing the apprenticeship and your career aspirations beyond.

You’ll be enrolled onto Accelerate Your Future, a structured three-year soft-skills development programme which develops the strengths that we know apprentices need to be successful at Mott MacDonald. It also gives you the opportunity to network and meet other apprentices and graduates in your cohort.
In addition to developing your soft skills, we recognise that each person's career goals vary, so when rolling off the programme we provide you with the tools and support to develop your ongoing career the way you wish to. Alongside our vast library of e-learning courses available to you, you can choose which direction you want your career to go in.
