Based in Old Street, in a modern office, they are a circa 50 strong, dynamic team of experts that want to welcome you, a Principal Highways Engineer to lead the team from a technical standpoint.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership: Lead and manage the design of highways and public realm projects.
2. Client Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients.
3. Technical Excellence: Develop technically sound design solutions for urban transport and public realm challenges, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
4. Team Mentorship: Mentor and lead a team of up to 6 people, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
5. Project Delivery: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources.
6. Quality Assurance: Ensure rigorous quality control on all project deliverables.
Essential Requirements:
1. Detailed Design Expertise: Detailed designs for highways and public realm projects. Ability to produce high-quality design documents, technical drawings, and plans.
2. Public Realm Design Skills: Public realm project knowledge, showing an understanding of spatial planning, user accessibility, and aesthetic considerations in urban spaces.
3. Cycleway and Active Transport Infrastructure: Expertise in the design and implementation of cycleways, pedestrian pathways, and other active transport infrastructure.
4. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and a solid understanding of design standards such as DMRB, Manual for Streets, and relevant guidance on sustainable urban mobility.
