The Role
Forbes Solicitors are looking for a Legal Assistant to join the Central Property Team at our Walton Summit office. This is a full-time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The Firm’s Central Property Team is an integral part of our property service offering and provides key administrative support to our Residential and Commercial Property teams.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:
* Provide effective and efficient support to Advisors through administration, planning, and secretarial work, including:
o Preparing and submitting both registered and unregistered applications to the Land Registry.
o Dealing with Land Registry requisitions.
o Checking title documents received in accordance with team instructions and actioning appropriately.
o Submitting SDLT and LTT.
o Managing companies’ house registration.
o Handling new charges and/or removal of the same.
o Managing lender/third-party portals.
o Addressing post-completion matters such as landlords or managing agents.
o Putting indemnity insurance policies on risk.
* Successful completion of additional non-chargeable work required to deliver work to clients in a timely and efficient manner.
* Preparing and completing standard legal documents and ancillary documents relating to Stamp Duty Land Tax for the delivery of client work.
* Drafting and proofreading standard correspondence for any relevant stakeholders based on information provided by an Advisor.
* Taking and updating client instructions to accurately inform the department of requirements.
* Providing organisation and logistical support to Advisors and the department for the practical delivery of services to clients.
* Obtaining instructions and information from clients and informing them of the processes and next steps.
* Coordinating and liaising with experts, solicitors, or other third parties.
* Managing ongoing communications with all external stakeholders, answering queries, managing expectations, providing updates, and effectively chasing responses required.
The Person
We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:
* Previous experience as a Legal Assistant is desirable.
* Previous experience within administration or an office environment would be ideal.
* Previous experience within a property department is desirable.
* Alignment with the Firm's values.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Proven competence in IT skills (Outlook, Word, and other systems experience).
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Interest in long-term development/progression in the department.
