The Role
As a Senior Network Modeller, you will take a strategic role in developing and delivering modelling solutions while ensuring the highest standards of technical governance. You will foster the professional development of your team and serve as a key leader in our AMP8 Better Rivers programme, overseeing comprehensive studies, investigations, and the application of cutting-edge technologies to address environmental challenges.
Your role will be instrumental in shaping and implementing solutions that align with our forward-thinking vision. Collaborating closely with experts across various disciplines, you will contribute to our research and development (R&D), planning, and network engineering efforts. Your leadership will be essential in overcoming complex engineering challenges and in advancing our objectives to improve the environment and enhance community welfare.
United Utilities provides a flexible, hybrid working model that allows you to balance your professional and personal life. You will be expected to work three days a week at our Lingley Mere site in Warrington, which promotes face-to-face collaboration, with additional travel to other North West sites as needed. Flexible working hours are also available to support work-life balance. During your initial period, you may need to attend the office more frequently to familiarise yourself with the site, team, and role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborated closely with various engineering disciplines and internal clients, fostering strong, productive relationships.
* Provided comprehensive engineering support, including design consultation and technical advice, primarily for capital programs, operational support, and studies/investigations.
* Led the delivery of multiple projects, studies, and investigations across UU, managing tasks such as data collection, analysis, design, technical report preparation, and proposal reviews, while offering guidance to team members.
* Coordinated and managed commissions via specialised network modeling frameworks, ensuring seamless project execution.
* Supervised and mentored technical staff, offering guidance and professional development to engineers across the organisation.
* Elevated UU’s technical leadership presence within the water industry and other sectors, enhancing visibility and influence.
Skills & Experience:
* Chartered or Incorporated professional or demonstrable equivalent level of expertise.
* Strong technical competence and leadership skills.
* Experience in leading successful modelling resources in a highly technical and commercial environment.
* Modelling experience needs to be in in the use of Innovyze InfoWorksTM ICM software.
* Hold a full UK/EU driving licence.
