Job Purpose:
Generate new business relationships and opportunities leading to pre-qualifications, tenders, and negotiations in line with sales targets and key opportunity criteria.
Main Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Understanding of the construction industry
2. Client meetings, developing client and consultant relationships, which are key to the business in order to influence and secure opportunities by providing invaluable feedback to the business
3. Generating leads and securing key opportunities for the business
4. Researching leads & clients
5. Identifying new potential key clients for the business
6. Presenting opportunities to Directors
7. Attending industry events & representing the contractor
8. Managing pipeline and ensuring dealings are met
9. Assisting in tenders/bids
10. Keeping up to date with the market, standards, and any issues that could affect the business/future projects
11. Developing and maintaining a high-level individual profile in the industry
12. Developing a strategic approach to business development, focused on the activity occurring within the relevant sectors
13. Managing the production of media to support target sector, projects, or framework presentations or meetings
14. Facilitating and presenting Preconstruction Meetings and general Business Development Meetings
Key Skills Required:
* Experience working as a Business Development Manager in Construction or a Civil Engineering environment is desirable but not essential; applicants with other transferable career experience are also encouraged to apply.
* Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
* Must have UK business development experience (Ideally with construction or civil engineering).
