Job description
We are looking for a range of Technicians to join our casual pool on a permanent, ADHOC basis. We’re looking for a wide range of skills in technical theatre to support the department until the end of this academic year and beyond at our brand-new facilities located at City Campus, The Manchester College (our facilities include two theatre’s, seven equipped rehearsal studios, wardrobe & props store, and workshop).
These roles will provide technical and operational support of a high standard for all productions for The Arden School of Theatre and The Manchester College Performing Arts Department at our City Campus, Great Ducie Street, M3 1PT.
Roles required:
1. Lighting Technician.
2. Sound Technician.
3. Wardrobe Assistant / Costumer Designer / Maker.
4. Set Design and Construction.
5. Prop Designer.
6. Stage Manager.
Main Duties:
7. Installation, programming and operation of lighting, sound and audio-visual equipment for rehearsals and performances.
8. Set design, construction, rigging and de-rigging of set.
9. Costume design, construction, fitting, costume sourcing and general wardrobe tasks.
10. Prop design, creation, and sourcing.
11. Attend design, production meetings and departmental meetings.
12. Follow LTE Group’s Health & Safety Policy, undertaking duties as required and ensure reasonable care is taken to maintain a healthy, safe place for staff, students, and members of the public.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Essential:
13. Level 2 English & Mathematics.
14. Industry relevant qualification as applicable by specialist function.
15. Previous industry experience working within theatre.
16. Experience of safely rigging and operating a range of Lighting fixtures, (including plotting and programming) sound and AV equipment.
17. Ability to work across multiple disciplines within the theatre sector.
18. Strong team player.
19. Ability to work flexible hours.
Desirable:
20. Experience working within an education establishment.
21. On the DBS update service.
22. Driving licence.
