Volunteer and/or Trainee Placement Counsellor

This is an exciting opportunity for a Counselling Student and/or Volunteer to help us shape our Counselling Service and work collaboratively and proactively alongside other paid and volunteer counsellors.
The Role:
As a Student Counsellor Trainee or Volunteer Counsellor, you will be providing counselling sessions and interventions with college students in one or both of our sites and will be supported by our Lead Student Counsellor. We will help you achieve your learning objectives as well as appreciate your valuable input as an integral part of the Counselling Services Team.
Requirements for prospective placement counsellors:
1. A minimum of Level 4 Diploma (would consider Level 3 for group work and/or psychoeducation)
2. A certificate of competence to counsel from your training provider
3. Be able to offer regular, ongoing hours throughout the college week that suit your training needs
4. Be a member of the BACP or working towards it in your training course
5. Have a strong desire to help and improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people
6. Have an innovative approach to mental health interventions
