What You'll Be Doing As an SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) in Scunthorpe, you'll be at the heart of providing personalised support to students with SEMH needs. Your day-to-day will involve assisting with classroom activities, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring the well-being of those you support. You'll also work closely with other professionals to create and implement tailored support plans. Your Key Responsibilities Offer one-on-one support: Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, helping them with their academic and personal development. Encourage and facilitate participation: Promote engagement in classroom activities and social interactions. Implement and adapt support plans: Work with teachers to create and adjust support plans that meet the evolving needs of students. Create a positive environment: Foster an inclusive and respectful atmosphere that upholds the dignity of all students. Keep accurate records: Maintain detailed records of the support provided and progress made, and communicate regularly with other team members and family members. Collaborate with professionals: Work with counsellors, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for students. What We're Looking For Previous experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. A genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEMH support are desirable. A valid driving licence is required.
