Our client is a modern, 4 star hotel, situated in Exeter city centre. Contemporary British cuisine can be found on the main restaurant’s menu, where meat and seafood are sourced locally and cater for an average of 50 covers per night during the week. The hotel often hosts large meetings, events, and weddings of over 250 covers, so you could easily find yourself catering for 300-400 covers during the day, at times.
This is a busy operation and so an experienced chef would be the perfect fit for this team. Please note, accommodation is not available here, therefore you must be able to commute to Exeter daily to be considered for this role. There are several public car parks nearby, all within a 5-minute walk of the hotel, and the nearest train station and bus stops are also within walking distance too, making it very easy to get here.
What’s involved?
As a Chef de Partie, you will be an experienced chef, able to run a section. You will confidently work as part of a team of likeminded, passionate chefs, preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes for all food outlets, to company standards. You will follow direction from the Head Chef, whilst also assisting in the training of any junior chefs working with you.
At all times, you should ensure that you and the team maintain high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety while keeping a close eye on portion and waste control to help maintain profit margins.
