Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, you will be part of a large team who will be responsible for a safe and smooth operation based at a large distribution centre that operates 24 hours, 7 days per week. You will be a proactive people manager who can listen to the experienced team on site, a keen eye for detail and the technical competence to keep the site-based fleet legal and safe to operate. Duties and responsibilities: Lead and manage the day-to-day Transport Clerical colleagues and Shunting/driving team activities. Including resource allocation, capability, and utilisation Deliver a consistent business performance and standard across the end-to-end transport operation, managing colleague performance to ensure the delivery of an excellent site operational performance safely and efficiently, achieving KPIs Monitor and implement compliance across Transport Operations activities Influence, manage and maintain external relationships across a variety of stakeholders, including our Stores Identify efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities whilst understanding the balance between service and cost, which should be presented to the Transport Operations Manager Operate within legislation, policy and process in all matters ranging from people management to health and safety and environment Systematically work through information, knowing when to move at pace and when to deepen analysis Accident and Incident Investigation working with the H&S team Cover Clerical duties in time of absence of sickness Liaise with the Fleet Compliance team.
