An Assistant Operations Manager at Bowl Central is a dedicated and committed individual with the behaviours and knowledge ready to progress to be the next Deputy Manager when the time comes. You will be expected to have a comprehensive knowledge of current products and rising trends in the hospitality & leisure sector and have a key part in the overall success, efficiency, and excellence in customer service of the business. You will be supported in the role by the Business Manager and the Deputy Manager.
Job Overview
We will be looking for a candidate that can lead and motivate a happy team of employees and guide their work efforts toward the most efficient and profitable delivery of our concept.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Customer service
o Oversee and manage all areas of Bowl Central in support of the BM/DM.
o Exceed customer expectations for guest service.
o Lead the team to meet and greet all customers on arrival, where practical.
o Ensure all products served are of a fantastic standard consistently.
o Take full responsibility for addressing customer complaints.
2. Team Management
o Oversee recruitment and help deliver the perfect induction and training for all team members, assisted by the Business Manager and Deputy Manager.
o Organise and duty manage shifts.
o Train and develop team and deliver feedback and review.
o Appraise team’s performance and provide feedback to achieve positive motivation.
o Nurture a positive and inclusive work environment.
o Ensure adherence to company uniform and presentation standards.
o Be proactive in encouraging a team-based approach to success.
o Actively support your team as a behaviour within you.
o A focus on team welfare and ensuring compliance with HR policy and guidelines.
o Be available for advice and support when not on shift (other than when on annual leave).
3. Operational Excellence
o Ensure efficient and accurate stock control and replenishment.
o Monitor and ensure compliance with food safety & health & safety regulations.
o Maintain the highest standards of operational performance.
o Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health & safety.
o Have a good working knowledge of all equipment and ensure necessary preventative maintenance.
o Help deliver a 5-star assessment from EHO in F&D standards consistently.
o Monitor food and draught product quality, ensuring excellence and prompt delivery.
o Promptly report any machine faults to the responsible party, service provider or warrantor.
o Be responsible for ensuring adherence to licensing, health & safety and H.R. regulations and conditions.
4. Marketing and Finance
o Help drive all financial disciplines including sales growth, cost control and margin maintenance.
o Ensure all team members follow procedure regarding tills and card machines.
o Help drive the business to achieve budget.
o Ensure security, rotation, and hygiene of stock.
o Contribute to marketing and promotional content and campaigns for social media and website.
o To have a full understanding of licensing law and food hygiene regulations.
o To be conversant and comfortable with all company policies.

Pay: Up to £28,000.00 per year
