About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to join our West Midlands team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead projects from inception to completion, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with clients' Environment teams, Highway Designers, Programme Delivery teams, and National Highways to ensure seamless project execution;
* Lead weekly resourcing and progress meetings, monitoring the contract inbox, and maintaining the scheme delivery tracker;
* Review task briefs, produce fee proposals, contribute to bid preparation, and input into programmes and progress meetings;
* Manage change processes, raise early warning notifications, and compensation events as required;
* Oversee progress, ensuring timely delivery of reports, and support clients in workload management across the team;
* Maintain industry knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices;
You will be required to operate unsupervised, seeking minimal advice and direction, and mentoring junior staff members.
Requirements
* An undergraduate degree in Environmental Science or a related field;
* Experience in project management, preferably managing environmental projects in the transport sector (highway experience desirable);
* Membership of a professional body or relevant qualifications/experience leading to membership (e.g., IEMA, IES, APM);
* Multi-disciplinary environment experience interacting with environmental disciplines, design teams, clients, and stakeholders;
* Contract management experience (CEMAR) is desirable;
* Ability to manage budgets, resourcing, and plan workload, ensuring project stages are delivered on time and within budget;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex environmental issues;
* Proficiency in Microsoft packages (MS Project and Excel essential);
* Excellent communication and presentation skills;

Salary & Benefits
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits including a paid subscription to a professional body and regular social events.
