MLS Senior Specialist (Intellectual Property Paralegal) London (3 days per week in the office) Salary range starting at £45,000 a year Role Overview Vario is a market leading alternative legal services provider within the law firm, Pinsent Masons. Vario is a practice group within Pinsent Masons which incorporates; Flexible Services, Consulting and Technology, Legal Project Management and Managed Legal Services (MLS). This role sits within our MLS team. As the Vario team grows, we are recruiting a Senior Specialist to support our MLS Delivery teams in ensuring that we are delivering a world class legal service to our practice groups and external clients. Reporting to MLS Senior Delivery Manager, this role focuses on: Leading delivery of large projects and complex matters in collaboration with LPMs and/or matter partners Act as a subject matter expert in your field, advising fellow team members on work products and delivering the most technically complex work yourself. Assisting with the supervision of tasks completed by the paralegal team, for example due diligence, CRO and patent searches, CE filing requests, document requests, daily cause lists and judgement summaries. Engage with lawyers and/or clients where appropriate regarding the delivery of work, agreeing structured ways of working to manage expectations Work with Vario Practice Development Manager to develop and deliver technical training on IP issues Mentor less experienced members of the team Support scoping and solution design of working winning activities Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests. Candidate Overview We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience: Significant experience of working in IP patent litigation and Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) related matter types Broad experience of working in a large commercial law firm and understanding the levels of service and capabilities required in alternative delivery models Strong project management skills Excellent stakeholder management skills to influence and drive technical efficiencies What can we offer you?
