Job Advert – Disrepair Surveying Manager (Housing Association – Hampshire) Client: Housing Association – Hampshire Job Title: Disrepair Surveying Manager Start Date: ASAP Contract: Permanent Salary: £63,584 per annum About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Disrepair Surveying Manager to join a Housing Association based in Hampshire. This key leadership role will involve managing legal disrepair claims, leading a team of Surveyors, and ensuring compliance with housing legislation and industry standards. The successful candidate will also act as an expert witness in legal proceedings while developing strategies to improve stock condition data and reduce future disrepair cases. Key Responsibilities: Lead on legal disrepair claim management, ensuring all cases follow the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Condition Claims. Represent the organisation as an expert witness in court, preparing compliant inspection reports. Oversee technical inspections, surveys, and diagnosis of repair defects. Manage and develop a team of Surveyors, ensuring high-quality property assessments and reporting. Stay up to date with legislative changes and industry standards, ensuring compliance across all projects. Undertake complex property issue resolution, including technical reports and specifications. Develop and implement strategies to enhance stock data intelligence and reduce disrepair cases. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery. Ensure value for money while taking active steps to reduce the organisation’s carbon footprint. Essential Skills & Experience: Degree or HND/HNC in Building Surveying or equivalent construction qualification. RICS qualified or extensive experience in legal disrepair management. Proven expert witness experience in legal disrepair cases. Strong knowledge of Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and related legislation. Extensive experience in building maintenance and surveying, including diagnosing complex issues. Strong leadership, customer service, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software. Full UK driving licence and access to own transport for site visits.
