Garden House Hospice Care has an exciting opportunity to join our Income Generation team as a Fundraising Assistant!
Who are we and what do we do?
We are Garden House Hospice Care, the Hospice for North Hertfordshire. We are a multi award-winning hospice that puts the patient at the heart of everything we do. We are the pioneers of a nationally recognised and innovative frailty service, working with the Lister Hospital, which has seen us expanding our services and helping even more patients through symptom control, reablement or last days of life care. Our focus is to generate sustainable income to help fund this.
What does the Fundraising Assistant role look like?
Working as part of the Income Generation Team under the direction of the Product & Event Development Lead, you will collaborate closely with the wider Relationship Fundraising team. The Fundraising Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for those raising funds for Garden House Hospice Care across the local community.
You will provide frontline support by answering income-related calls and emails, welcoming visitors to the Hospice, and engaging with fundraisers within the community. The role involves managing lower-value fundraising relationships, ensuring supporters progress through the supporter journey effectively to maximise engagement and income generation. You’ll also represent GHHC at local community events to enhance the organisation's visibility and presence.
What skills does the Fundraising Assistant need?
1. Be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being confident to meet and talk to people.
2. Have good IT & administration skills along with experience of working with a CRM database.
3. Previous experience of fundraising in a charity environment would be beneficial.
