Farm & Rural Property Agent Various locations: Alnwick, Kirkby Lonsdale, Driffield or Chester-le-Street Join our team As part of our ongoing expansion, we are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and enthusiastic Rural Property Estate Agent to join our specialist department in the North of England. This role focuses on buying and selling agricultural properties, including commercial farms, estates, land, and rural properties, supporting our existing office and service network. The successful candidate will be expected to play a pivotal role in developing new clients and matching them with suitable properties and ensuring smooth transactions, all while providing expert advice on market trends, valuations, as well as guidance on tax and legal requirements. Key responsibilities Manage the sale, purchase, and leasing of farms, estates, and rural properties Conduct market appraisal to determine fair market prices for properties Negotiate terms and prices between buyers and sellers or landlords and tenants Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs Provide professional advice to landowners, investors and farmers regarding property market trends and opportunities Assist clients in navigating regulatory and legal requirements related to rural property transactions Conduct market analysis to determine trends in agricultural property values Develop marketing strategies and materials to promote properties effectively Host viewings and open days, showcasing properties to potential buyers or tenants Collect documentation in support of properties enquiries and manage the data in support of all sales Liaise with solicitors, surveyors, & other professionals involved in property transactions Work alongside the firm’s other professional advisors to provide advice on land use, diversification opportunities, and development potential Assess the suitability of properties for specific agricultural activities or alternative uses Skills and Experience A desire and enthusiasm to achieve client focussed results Strong negotiation and communication skills Ability to build relationships and network effectively Proficiency in financial analysis and property valuation High level of organisation and attention to detail Experience of property sales and an understanding of process and procedures Have a full UK driving licence with access to a car and be willing to travel across the North of England to meet the requirements of the role A degree/diploma in rural land management, agriculture, estate management, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory) RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accreditation or willingness to work towards it CAAV (Central Association of Agricultural Valuers) membership or willingness to work towards it Our Benefits 4% employer contribution pension scheme with Aviva Company sick pay 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, plus your birthday Leave at lunchtime on Christmas eve Wellbeing activities throughout the year Expensed eye tests Recruitment referral bonus Salary sacrifice Private health insurance with Vitality Salary sacrifice Electric Car Scheme Fully supported training and professional development Professional membership fees paid Enhanced Family Friendly leave Free refreshments in all offices We're committed to creating an inclusive and accessible recruitment process.
