Job Title: Instrument Designer Job Role: Contract role Location: Greater Manchester Multi-disciplinary projects– Good rates – potential for long term with constant new projects A brilliant design consultancy business that specialises in multi-disciplinary engineering projects, within the highly regulated industries. With a number of long term, key projects this is a role that will work as part of the design team, on site and have input into all aspects of works. You will join a highly skilled team that are not overloaded with work but have great projects to keep them busy. This is a day’s role, with Monday to Friday hours available and you would have experience from any process background of distilleries/chemicals/pharma etc. This role could suit Instrument technicians that have worked their way up to doing design work. What you will do: Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures, executing assigned scopes of work. Technically competent in own discipline. Provide discipline support to the business. Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments Experience of schematics, instrument cable block, loop, hook-up diagrams and appropriate instrument and valve schedules. Produce and review instrument location drawings based on the instrument database, EFDs and plant layout drawings. Liaise with engineers to ensure design intent is implemented.
