Role Overview
Stratospherec is delighted to be recruiting for a global software company making a real impact in the healthcare sector. This hybrid role will be based one day a week in the company’s beautiful office in East Sussex where you will work as part of a close-knit team taking responsibility for the successful delivery of high-level technical support and customer service, owning the technical aspects of the company’s infrastructure, communication and telephony systems.
This role will allow you to play a major role in exciting new projects whilst overseeing operational maintenance including the swift resolution of client and internal system issues, maintaining and developing the company’s local/cloud virtualisation and storage infrastructure, providing capacity, resilience and performance analysis and improvements, as well as troubleshooting system and connectivity issues.
You will also take ownership for infrastructure system support tickets and documentation, providing preventative maintenance as part of a team that ensures systems are patched and documented with a key focus on repeat problem analysis and prevention. You will maintain and develop operational, configuration and other procedures as well as providing proactive monitoring and alerting of key systems, ensuring any potential or actual core system availability issues are identified and rectified quickly whilst performing regular security monitoring and daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
You will actively participate in developing, maintaining, and testing Disaster Recovery whilst working on operational projects providing extended technical support to client server deployments, rebuilds, and upgrades and complete technical solutions from planning through to implementation and go-live configuring hardware, peripherals, services (including cloud services), settings, directories and storage in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical authority on Microsoft Windows Server architecture in a clustered, highly available environment.
* Experience administering Linux systems, including user management, file system management, and service configuration, within various Linux distributions such as Ubuntu and CentOS.
* Strong knowledge of configuring and supporting virtualisation technologies, particularly VMware vSphere.
* Strong experience with Microsoft Exchange, including both hosted and cloud-based solutions.
* Excellent experience in administering Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory Domain Services and associated roles and features.
* Experience supporting Microsoft Windows client operating systems and desktop hardware architecture in a corporate business environment.
* Excellent experience with HP Enterprise server architecture and SAN technologies.
* Experience in managing small technical projects from conception through to completion.
* Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server architecture, maintenance, and scripting.
* Experience with PowerShell scripting.
* Experience in client and server security products.
* Experience in any Virtual Desktop Platforms - Citrix DaaS / Azure AVD.
