Your Role
We are looking for a Shift leader to be part of an effective and efficient team providing warehousing services for an operation at Middle Wallop within our Aerospace division. Reporting to the Contract Process Manager, the shift leader will be responsible for the effective operation of an alternating early and late shift covering from 05:30-14:00 and 13:30-22:00. You will lead a small team of warehouse staff, supporting the processes which are carried out within the department.
Your Responsibilities
* Review daily performance of your team and to ensure that all internal and customer KPIs
associated with the team are achieved
* Actively communicate with other agencies to achieve joint goals
* Attend daily production meetings run by the on-site engineering staff
* Ensure productivity and performance reports are compiled, distributed and discussed with team
in order to assess, review and improve operational performance
* Continuously develop a highly customer focused and motivated team, and help drive PS and
SC21 principles
* Fair and consistent supervision of all employees
* Manage the department workloads/resource allocation on a daily basis
* Promote the Company’s policies on Quality, Health and Safety and Environment
* Undertake all warehousing duties, including operation of MHE
* Report all discrepancies that may have an effect on the performance of the contract to the
Process Manager
* Carry out any additional tasks as agreed with the Process Manager.
Your Skills and Experiences
* Knowledge of the military aerospace logistics
* Experience of working to agreed targets and specific processes, with good attention to detail
* Understanding of and experience in warehouse practices
* Ability to work individually and manage a small team
* Reliable, with good timekeeping and communication skills
* Flexibility, including task and hours
* The ideal candidate will be PC literate with a working knowledge of MJDI and Microsoft Office
* Full driving license essential and be prepared to operate MHE (including FLT)
